WOYWW #137

Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday
Wow it's already the third one for the year.
Oh boy its good to be home, it was nice to go away but Home sure is Sweet Home
My friend that we visited on our holiday kindly gave me these flowers because she doesn't use them anymore, lucky me!!
Unpacking to do, didn't realise how
Bought some lovely mangoes and nectarines on the drive back
Pelican feeding time on the Central Coast
These pelicans were really funny, they knew when feeding time was and would wade up onto the foreshore half an hour before feeding time, not sure if the crowds triggered their clocks or what it is.

If you want to see more Desks and what's on them go to Julia Dunnit's place for more links

  1. Welcome home! Great photos and just had to add this poem by Ogden Nash.....
A wonderful bird is the pelican
His bill will hold more than it's belly can
He can take in his beak
    Food enough for a week
But I'm damned if I know how the helican!
    Love Jo x

  2. How nice that your friend gave you all those wonderful flowers to play with. Those pelicans are certainly impressive looking. I think I'd feed them just because they are interesting looking.

  3. Wow, I envy you the mangoes and nectarines. It's winter here so we only get the imported stuff and it just isn't the same. Sounds like you had a wonderful (and profitable) vacation. It's always so nice to return home although having to leave a vacation spot isn't always so nice. I'll bet it's a relief to be out of a non-air conditioned place, though.

  24. Beautiful photos and I was thinking of the exact same poem Jo put on here! We were lucky enough to see nesting Pelicans in South Carolina last year, amazing birds. Lovely flowers from your friend, now all you have to do is get back into the swing of things!

  31. I love pelicans...they are so comical...and... I have never been up close to one. We have some here..they are huge.... The White Pelican, but, they sail overhead and onto the river too far away to get a reeeellly good look at them. They are a protected bird here .. an endangered species they say. They arrive here in Calgary in April and leave in September...and we are not supposed to sneak up on them or bother them from too close especially during nesting season ... but, I sure would like to see one up close.
