The Creative Blog Hop (TCBH)

A crafter Vicki Doswell whom I met via my WOYWW weekly posts invited me to participate in a Creative Blog Hop which I have seen on various blogs that I visit frequently.

TCBH is the brainchild of a blogger no one knows who it is. If you know let me know and I'll put her/his name on this post. A blogger is tagged along with two others who then answer question about their craft resume and introduces three other bloggers the following week and so on. There are no rules that I can see and the bloggers you nominate could be a fanatic of cooking, painting, card making, scrapbooking etc.
This could mean a lot of bloggers joining in and so far there has been many as I googled and found lots of blog with this label.

1. What am I working on now?
Working on some wedding cards that I have been commissioned to do for a work colleague. Also slowly unpacking my craft boxes after our big move this year. Looking to participate in more card challenges. I usually have a few projects on the go, luckily I have a few desks I can leave a project on and go to it when it needs time to sit or if I get a creative block.

2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?

A lot of my work is quite intricate and takes a bit of thinking and time to create, a lot of my crafting friends cant comprehend how I can create the 3D projects I do but I love it and thrive on it. I am lucky I can create different genres, sort of like a jack of all trades LOL.

3. Why do I create what I do?

My creating is in the moment if not to a brief for a Design Team or celebration like Mothers day, Christmas. I love creating for charity, I feel my work in my hands and feel the love I put into the cards go towards a loved one across the world and back. The feedback from these recipients makes it all worth it. Some say their hubby's never write to them normally but because of the cards they get mail every week and know that the person has touched that card and written in it as opposed to an email which isn't tactile.

I also create because I love doing things with my hands and know that whatever I create is because of someone or is going to someone and that is so fulfilling.

4. How does my creative process work?

I think outside the box when it comes to creating. My inspiration could come from anywhere? I could look at a ribbon and a design would pop into my head, I could see a colour and want to make something in that colour scheme. I could look at a power line while driving and see a design from the lines crossing over each other. I once saw a card design from a pair of flip flops at a store when I took my daughter shopping. This Baby Rattle card was made because I needed to make a card for a friend who just had a baby and because I didn't have any baby stamps I went to the next level of creating a 3D card to do with babies.

1. Finishing another mini album
2. I don't know that I have a specific genre, I have a boy and girl so I flip between CAS and lots of bling
3.  Because its so much fun
4. I usually start with some paper or stamps and work around it from there.

Mary McMillan aka Glitter Grammy. She's a 60 something youngster who has been creating with paper since childhood but became obsessed in 1993 when she purchased her first rubber stamp. Lives in Northern California. It has taken over a portion of her house. She's met so many wonderful women through crafting and through this Mary and I met via the internet. Check out her wonderful creations on her blog where she displays her craft for Design Teams that she is a member of.
