WOYWW # 306 & Postcrossing - Stationery Swap-Australian Postbox

Last week I participated in a Stationery Swap on Postcrossing and was a host which means I gather 10 stationery items and post to the next person on the list of participants. There were 5 participants in my group. Participants take how many items they would like and replace that amount back and send it onto the next person. The last person sends me the 10 items, so it will be interesting to see what arrives back to me eventually.

Contents of the stationery swap are: Ruler, paperclips, note pad, slinky attacher, scented pens, stationery holder, magnetic bookmark, note book, sticky notes, gel pens.

Countries this parcel is going to are Greece, USA, Turkey, Germany and Japan.

So not only do we swap postcards there are other swaps as well that you can participate in which makes it fun.

Still waiting for my first official postcard to arrive LOL, there should be 3 winging their way to me as 3 of mine have been received since I joined on 23 March 2015

I'm very lucky to have a postbox right outside my door. We don't have that system in the USA where you can leave your envelope with postage stamp on it in your mailbox and the mailman will pick it up and post it for you-what a great idea and service to the community.

April is National Card and Letter Writing Month when you write 30 letters in 30 days. Pick up a pen and paper and write a letter or card and send to a random someone and put a smile on their faces. HERE is an article about how letter writing is like getting a hug in the mail. This ARTICLE shows gorgeous stationery. I did not know until April 12th that this was Letter Writing Month but luckily for me and Postcrossing that I already sent out 10 letters this month so I have to catch up now hahaha.

Anniversary WOYWW is here again-week 312 which falls on May 27th, so if you'd like to participate HERE is what Julia has in mind for that post. If you'd like to swap an ATC with me let me know in the comments so I know how many to make and send me your snail mail address via EMAIL

Joining Julia in her Stamping Ground to see more desks and activities around the world.

  1. you're lucky having the post box so close - I have to remember to put my envelopes in the box as I was past it to get the bus to work... how many times have I kept on walking?!!! Enjoy your week and hope you get your swaps back soon. Helen #5

  4. Our postal service here in the states leaves a lot to be desired. That being said, it is grand to step to the end of the driveway and put a piece of mail in the box and they pick it up. Sometimes mail gets lost but for the most part it is better than driving to a post office or a mail box somewhere else. Happy WOYWW!

  5. I didn't know about the other swaps! Where did you learn that? You've got some nice items there. I don't think I could afford a swap though. Postage in this country has gone through the roof!
I'm going to have to put my Postcrossing on hold while we travel (at least 6 weeks) at the end of this month. I hope you get your first postcard soon,
    Happy Postcrossing,

  6. Hi Bridget, what a great idea that stationery swap is. What fun. Love the way the USA post works- that would be so cool. Don't know how many times I've gone out with mail to post in my bag, only to find I've still got it in my bag when I get back home! I would love to swap ATC's with you, I'll email you my addy later. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #16 xx

  7. I love the sound of the 30 letters in 30 days, as I completed InCoWriMo in Feb where you write a letter/card/note a day for the month. I ended up writing 55 letters and still am receiving some that I have to answer. It is a lot of fun and makes the world seem smaller. Love the idea of a stationery swap. Never heard of that. I love 2 stationery podcasts (pen addict, erasable , and adore the well appointed desk blog). Enjoy the week! Winnie #48

  9. That sounds like a fun sort of swap. I just joined a swap for pocket letters. You make up a 9 pocket page protector full of little ATCs and other goodies, including a letter. I think it should be fun! Happy day :) Shel@PaperOcotilloStudio #17

  10. Hi Bridget, the mail men in America must be very obliging, they certainly aren't like that here in the UK. If you don't mind posting to the UK I would be pleased to swap ATCs with you.
Hoping you have a great crafty week. Happy woyww, Angela x 36 x

  14. I have it lucky here in Oklahoma cause the postman picks up and delivers all my mail to a box infront of my house...my own box that I don't have to share. I can ship packages with them so long as I pay on line and have them all ready to go. That stationary swap sounds awesome. I have to check that out. Have a great week. Vickie #8
