WOYWW 322 View from my craftroom-postcard from Katarina Dubai

This view looks out the front of the house, looking through a mozzie (mosquito) mesh and is the original driveway to the house that is why the door is so big as its the original garage door size. Wonderful for hot summer days when the breeze can flow through

This is the view from where I sit at the computer, yes this side of the house is sunken into the ground. This photo taken at 11am
The higher the sun rises the more sun I get and I love bright sunny rooms. This photo was taken at 1pm
I love seeing everyones view outside their craftroom, Barbs View last week prompted me to show mine, so I took the two views I see outside my craft area.
Onto my desk, I seem to favour the desk behind the computer, its closer and I dont have far to walk. Basket on the left holds all the mail to go out. New stamps and dies I gathered from a craft store. I dont know whats in that red tin LOL, probably biscuits. Postage stamps and glasses and wood mounted rubber stamps. The crane book is what I am writing letters in to send to penpals.

And those postage stamps in those black stamp holders are to die for Australian stamps from yesteryear that I have never seen. I get them from my local post office. She has someone come in and sell her the stamps.
My first postcard from WOYWW follower Katarina/Katie from UAE who follows another WOYWW blogger and found my blog. thank you so much Katie, my postcard is on its way to you.

I've started a project called A Postcard a Day, I hope you can join me. I also hope I get enough postcards to be able to keep this up everyday, will you help me? You can send your postcard to:

Geebung QLD 4034
Australia

I would be delighted to swap a postcard with you in return. I am hoping to collect a postcard from every corner of the world. It would make my day/month/year. So if you are going to send me a card please write WOYWW on it so I can show yours off on Wednesdays, and also identify what country it's coming from and acknowledge it.

In two weeks time I am going to my first Craft Camp in Australia and I cannot wait. Of course I have already started packing my crafty stuff. Of course you will hear all about it here with photos too.

Joining Julia's Stamping Ground for more views of craftiness around the world.

  1. What a wonderfully wide front door - and sunny window too. I get lots of strong light, but no direct sunlight after the late morning in my studio, which is fine with me .
Love your desk and all the goodies on it - the craft shop purchases look interesting :-)
    Blessings

  3. Golly. What a remodel. Never heard of using the garage door as the front door before. Sure will come in handy when the heat sets in.

Gosh, I am in AWE of those postage stamps. You have a super friend at the PO. Happy WOYWW from #2.

  4. Just read your question to me. The brown cabinet is actually the night stand that matches the dresser that sits behind my work table. I keep fibers, rick rack, bias tape, and such in the drawers.

  6. So much going on today Bridget, love the view and all the lovely stamps. I have so many old stamps but don't like to let them go for fear of wishing I'd kept them. You may have some collectable stamps amongst them. Like the idea of the postcards and will have a look to see if I can find you one or two even. Happy woyww, Angela x 19

  7. What a great post Bridget. Its good to see the view from your craftroom. I know it's winter down under but you have sun! And need a mozzie screen! You must tell me more about your garage mozzie screen. We have a garage entrance too and it is so nice to sit there because of the breeze but we have no mozzie screen. Do you just buy a sheet and hang it up? The mozzies over here are very tiny (midges) and we would need a very fine mesh. Have you made a door in the mesh or do you just push it aside?
I love your desk. What beautiful stamps. So good of your postmistress to buy them.
A card from Dubai! I have yet to get one from Dubai. Lucky you. Beautiful stamps too.
    Happy WOYWW,

  9. Your postage stamp collection is wonderful! I also collect some themed stamps - architecture and Christmas/Christian stamps. Every time I read about your postcard project I think of joining in. I will look for a nice postcard and one of these days, I hope to send you one!

  10. I've never seen a mozzie net that size before. When I was young I used to get bitten alive but they don't seem to bother with me so much now. Think I must be too tough! Thanks for showing your view. Partly below ground sounds interesting.

I like the look of your desk. Those embossing folders look good and I love the lady's face stamp. The stamps on your desk look lovely. I don't think you'll be using those on cards will you. There's a postcard coming your way later today. Barbxx

  11. So are you built into a hil! Or is the below ground thing to keep the roof levels the same or is it a deliberate thing to keep the houses cool? Love that you've got such strong light and proper sunshine even in winter!
I sent a Spanish postcard ages ago, I guess these things take time!

  12. Hi Bridget, what gorgeous outdoor views you have. Love those old stamps, absolutely beautiful. I can remember that it took many, many years for the Brits to start producing larger, more colourful stamps. I used to collect stamps as a kid, and loved all the foreign stamps for their themes and colour, whilst ours just had an image of the Queens head and price on them! The desk is an IKEA tabletop- love how much 'stuff' I can get on it, and still work, lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #4 xx

  14. I enjoyed the window view shots you posted, because they give a better sense of where you're working from. Your postcard swap sounds alluring, but first I have to find a postcard with some of the interesting spots in Del Rio. Blessings and Happy WOYWW! #42

  16. Such big beautiful windows with all that sun! It makes me jealous. I'll have to remember to show my view next week. My view is a wall of blinds across the room. It is far too hot to open the blinds in summer due to the thin cheap glass in my large, large windows. I would prefer the sun but don't like air cooler bill when I do open the blinds. I noticed those fancy eye catching postage stamps right away! You've got all sorts of fun new things to play with. I'm sure that soon you will be having lots of fun in your sunny room. Judy #49

  17. Hi Bridget, so interesting to see what you see from your house and how lovely to have all that sunshine too. Those stamps are beautiful. That's quite a lot of postcards ready to send out - you must have quite a collection by now. The stamps on the one from UAE are lovely too. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #37
