Story of the bookcase and my famous recipe

So last week I had a zoom conference with some ladies from our homemaking online group and one bright eyed lady spotted my very untidy bookcase behind me. We all laughed when she told me I need to tidy it up, so it didn't take much for that comment to spur me on and get it tidied up.

It had been an eyesore, as you can see

Ta da nicely visible...and I didnt end there, I actually tidied up the whole office lol, you know how it is, you just cant stop. Anyway I now have a really nice clean office.

On the second shelf there is a book in the middle called Homecooked Feasts, my recipe for marinated prawns is in it on page 115
I have since improved that recipe so I use the original for chicken

Alcohol Inks

I love working with alcohol inks (gets me on a high-just kidding) you sure need a nice airy space to work in or its gets up your nose. I was working in my kitchen with these, firstly I make the backgrounds then leave them to dry and use them later. They make a mess everywhere so you need to prepare these backgrounds all at once so you only 'mess about' once LOL. It's my go to background when I need something on the fly.

This is one of my published cards.

Published

I was unpacking and found these magazines that my work was published in and discovered I have never blogged them, so here goes.

Australian Paper-crafts Magazine
One of my favourite techniques using alcohol inks on gloss card and acetate

This was an ATC again made with alcohol inks on gloss card and grease proof paper resist
at first I didnt like that the inks didnt take in certain areas I called 'flaws' but in crafting there is no flaw. They actually turned out really good-these white space flaws. I never throw out my flaws, I leave them to rest and for me to accept them. I am a highly OCD person when it comes to crafting as you can see from my designs

The Rubber Gazette
I made these Christmas ornaments to give one year instead of christmas cards. I always felt that Christmas cards get put away and forgotten but ornaments will get taken out each year and adorn the trees. The ornaments in the middle are triangle dominoes I decorated.

My published artwork

A year after I started stamping my artwork got published by a stamping magazine in Australia, I was rapt, they even paid me for my trouble, that encouraged me to do more and send more in, the following art has been published between 2005 and 2006.

These are ornaments that I made as Christmas cards and gave them out to be hung on Christmas trees, they were a hit, I used the Polished Stone Wax resist technique on these.

I was then approached to participate in a challenge and this is the card I made from the stamps that I got sent from Paper Artsy

These cards were again made with alcohol inks using the monoprinting technique:
