Friday Fences #16

Here is a montage/collage of some of the hundreds of photos I took on that Skywalk, the tree roots were tremendous and so high up but an awesome view of nature nonetheless.

Drove up to Mt Tambourine on the Gold Coast Hinterland and went on the Skywalk. This is one spectacular rainforest with birds chirping and a feeling of such intense one with nature, an exhilarating experience to say the least.
Of course this fence is one that fences one in or up in this case. Its is very high up!
This cantilever walkout was ok until I got to the end and looked down and the bridgeway swayyyyed and there was nothing holding it up from below, it was just hanging out there with the help of the above pole in the middle of the walkway. The picture below is from that pole out to the end. There doesn't look like much room to walk around the post from where I took this picture but by the time you get to it you want to hold onto the post LOL and there is room

I have never had a fear of heights but being on the Skywalk certainly told me otherwise. Each time I looked down my knees went weak and my heart rate went up or out but definitely not in my chest.

Found some really nice fences, so will be sharing them in the future.

Hop on over to Jan's blog to see other spectacular fences

  1. That pole in the middle doesn't give you much room to walk through, does it?!

  4. I would be so glad to have that 'fence'--otherwise I would never walk across it.

  7. I so love Mount Tambourine! A gorgeous area! I strolled the village there but did not see the walkway! If I had, I would probably be taking photos from the beginning, not on the walkway! But I adore the view in your photos! Magical intimacy with Nature!

  8. Oh, this reminds me of another skywalk just outside Wellington, NZ. So thrilling to walk among the treetops and quite a challenge for those of us who have a healthy fear of seemingly unsupported heights!

  16. Beautiful, Bridget! I don't like heights, so I would probably prefer to admire this from afar.

  17. Hell!

This is an amazing place to visit but I get heart palpatations just looking at the photos! I am so afraid of heights that I don't even know if I could make myself even move once on this bridge! Wishing you a happy day today!
