WOYWW 351 - Letter of the Month update

This is my desk upstairs where I was relegated to during my strange illness week. The first week of February saw me away down south in the next state to do a one week course on management. By Thursday I had a humongous headache probably from information overload. That headache stayed with me until Sunday. Monday and Tuesday I could hardly look at anything technology-TV, Computer, Ipad, Iphone. Everything gave me a horrendous headache, made me nauseous and wanting to throw up. So needless to stay I stayed in bed, it was all I could do. I couldn't even write letters. I don't do lying in bed well. So upstairs is where I've been for the last week when I eventually was able to write and watch tv-still couldnt come onto the computer or use the ipad.

See that brown board to the left? I got that free from the supermarket when I bought some herbs, its now my ipad stand woohoo. I have no idea how my desk got so untidy hahahaha or why I have to use that 150 x 150cm top to its max.

The black pouch is my see through pencil case, I love it-got it from Officeworks. The red noodle box to the right houses my outgoing mail ready to post.

Below shows the incoming mail I need to reply to at week 4 of Lettermo. The pile on the right of 7 are what has arrived from lettermo participants that I need to reply to. I guess they will still be arriving long after February if these are arriving now at week 3.

For most of you following my blog (when I was able to get onto the computer), know I've been participating in Lettermo this month. That is what my desk is full of. Below are letters I've written so far in the 3 weeks of the challenge. I have connected with school mates, fulfilled my Postcrossing quota and posted snail mail instead of email friends I've usually contact. Its been wonderful!! Below photos show the outgoing of week 2 and 3
I love my curries as you all know! So I made this coconut chicken and potato curry specially so it could go into a pie, sadly I bought the wrong pastry for the pies so I ate the curry in lettuce leaves just like Sang Choy Bao, its so nice and light to eat it this way and I ate a whole head of lettuce hahaha yum!!!

A world of technology in a funny video for you all called "Pass the Salt", sadly this is our world now.

  1. Glad you're feeling better. Your letter arrived yesterday - thank you! It lost its stamp somewhere along the way, though, so I am pleased it still made it.

    1. I'm so sorry, I wonder if I didnt even put one on? I am always scared that I will do that and have done it before. If so i am surprised it got there with no stamp

    2. There is a space where the postmark is, so I think it was definitely there. Nothing to be sorry about, it is here after all!

  3. What a busy desk, Bridget! So much mail... Sorry to hear you've been so poorly with that horrible headache and hope you are OK by now. Your curry on lettuce leaves looks dreamy. I'm hoping to do some more cooking this week and want to make samosas and a chilli recipe from the Southern United States. Loved the video haha, and I thought they were going to text each other to ask for the salt!

    Happy WOYWW,

  8. Well I hope you're restored now....did you get dehydrated do you think? Who knows. Your Lettermo has been hugely successful, it really is so nice to get real mail! And is there really such a thing as the wrong pastry? I'd have done it anyhow!

  9. I hope you are feeling better. Letter writing is something I rarely do these days, I think I might write one for my daughter in Japan. Skyping is good but actually getting a letter from home would be nice too

  13. I wonder if your headache was due to lack of fluids while you were on your course...my hubby used to be like that when he was on courses/long meetings at work - they never seem to provide enough to drink other than a mid morning/mid afternoon "comfort break".....glad you're better now
Love the sound of the Lettermo...will have to follow the link and check it out

    1. I am suspicious that it was the dehydration because I only remember drinking one small glass until morning tea then another at afternoon tea. And then we would walk outside in the heat to do inspections.

  16. I'm sorry to hear you had to suffer horrible headaches. And glad that things seem to be a little better now. Dehydration can cause headaches (assuming you haven't fallen on your head or got sunstroke).
Your desk looks lovely and busy. I am amazed about the amount of mail you send. The nice part is that you receive a lot of nice mail too!
I did giggle at Pass The Salt, but I believe it is a sad truth nowadays.
    Thanks for visiting mine,
    Happy WOYWW,

What a wonderful pile of letters your received. That must be a lovely change from the bills and ads that clutter the post. I love the stand. I need something like that.

  19. Wow! I think I would go a bit crazy if I had to respond to so many letters lol. I am fully enmeshed in my eletronic communication as are the rest of my family. My kid even texts me from upstairs when I am downstairs sometimes... That curry on lettuce looks absolutely yummy and make me hungry looking at it! Shel/PaperOcotilloStudio #48

  20. I love getting old-fashioned letters - what a great idea, and what a lot of letter-writing you must do! So glad you are feeling better, that sounded nasty. Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier (my little houses will stay flat although I do like the idea of making them 3D - you've given me something to think about!). Have a good week,

  21. Hi Bridget- I have to say your headache sounds suspiciously like a migraine. My Beloved Hubby gets them on occasion, and cannot bear lights, and TV, Pc are absolute no-no's for him. It's the wanting to throw up as well that sounds like a migraine, thats very typical. Glad you're feeling better now.
Love all your correspondence there, so much to look at.
Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #12 xx

  22. I'm just in from my afternoon school run and having done the morning school run and a full day of sewing in between I'm feeling rather jaded but as you can imagine those little ones never fail to put a smile on my face so it's all worth it.
Thanks for dropping by at mine earlier.
That curry looks really yummy. Glad you're feeling rather better.

  24. Hi Bridget, WOW! What a lot of mail you have. I love your outgoing box:) I have some boxes that i intend on using wrapping paper on and then they can be used for storage.

Sorry you have felt so rough. Hope you are back to normal very soon. It sounds similar to a Migraine.

Your curry sounded and looked scrummy.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  25. Okay, so everything that I wanted to say about how awesome a month of actual letters must be has now been over-shadowed by an amazing looking curry. Food will win every time!

  26. I'm pinching the word "humongous" to put in my book of words. I fill it with quirky words that appeal to me. I write where I saw it then look up what it means and any info I can find about it. So thanks to your humongous headache I've got a new word haha.
