WOYWW 329

Working on 3 desks lately, this is my writing desk, letters on their way out the door, cook books on the left because I was in a recipe Round Robin where we all own a recipe book and send it to participants and they write or stick recipes in it and we get our books back full of recipes from around the world. The yellow book is one I just finished putting recipes in and will be posted.
Playing with my Dylusions spray and die templates to make awesome designs on envelopes

This envelope above to the left was decorated by mopping up the excess ink on the laminated sheet I have to protect my table. It made a pretty one of a kind envelope that you can't repeat again LOL
This desk had pocket letters on the go. I was testing out the Chameleon pens and colouring that candy cane in the book, it turned out well but the water colour paper bled too much. So going to try it on an envelope. The quotes to the right were ready to go in envelopes for my monthly envelope exchange that Jean Wilson runs. You can just see my Christmas CD I decorated with Lumieres, I was showing my friend how it is done, we can start to decorate them now as the weather is getting warmer. I have found you cannot do these CDs in winter, so its a seasonal design for sure LOL
My third desk downstairs that is, I fished out some lumiere and folk art paints as I was searching for my H2os, still cant find them LOL

T Tuesday - Sapota Fruit

Found this fruit at the Asian markets called Sapota, very soft on the outside, at first I thought it was mangosteen but the mangosteen I know has a very hard exterior. Anyway this is so awesome in flavour. Googling only showed me yellow type of fruit so I have no idea why this one is purple. maybe it cant handle the plane ride from overseas to Australia hahahaha.

It was funny when I texted my brother to ask him if he knew what this fruit was called, he texted back saying "Try Sapota and its not the underwear". In Fijian sapota means underwear hahahaha.
I've been missing in action for a few weeks only because I've had no interesting tea stories to tell you. I had tea delivered to my table and saw this smiley face at the bottom of my cup, Love it!!!
I took a book to write while we were waiting to see the movie Everest at VMax, because hubby decided we needed to go 2 hours before the movie started LOL, I wasn't going to sit and twiddle my thumbs
EDITED: The movie Everest was very poignant for me as i had read all the Everest Mountaineering books that have been published so far. The movie Everest was made by IMAX during the worst disaster Everest had had at the time. It was interesting to see all the stuff I had read about like the Hillary step, the Khumbu icefalls and life in the tents at such high altitude. One book I read was about the making of Everest so it was wonderful to see that in real life and know it was all real.
My cup of tea was very interesting, it did not look like that in real life with a white blob in there, I think the light was playing tricks and I only noticed it when I uploaded the photo.

Joining Bluebeard and Elizabeth for T for Tuesdays to see more tea stories around the world.

August Decorated Envelope - Cindy Smith MS USA

I received this lovely envelope, the first one that is designed based on the stamps. Can you spot the stamps? Cindy writes that the script is outside her usual "old lady" script calligraphy and she is trying new things. Well it's my pleasure that she got to try it out on me. Cindy if you see this THANK YOU so much. Wish I could draw or write half as good.

When I got it I ran into the post office and showed my post lady. I always show her all my envelopes and postcards and discuss the stamps, calligraphy etc. She said she has never had such an interesting postbox renter having so much lovely mail.

August Envelope Exchange - Cathy O'Rear

Cathy O'Rear sent met this envelope, she fussy cut the colouring and stuck it on the envelope. Gorgeous calligraphy using an oblique pen, bronze twinkling H20 and coloured pencil.

I must bring my H20's and revive them.  I didnt know you could use H20 in calligraphy!

Check out those postage stamps!!

Decorated Envelopes - August

I was gobsmacked when I received this one, the time that it must have taken to decorate this envelope both front and back was purely love of this craft. I am so hooked on Decorated Envelopes run by Jean Wilson of Pushing The Envelope and Jan Hardt

Chuck Myrick did this monocromatic one above, love the lettering. (I just realised Chuck spelt my last name wrong but who cares I didnt even notice it till a few weeks later hahaha)

I think Janet Faught used a colouring technique on the above one similar to woodgrain

Jan Hardt's Angry Birds envelope is artistic in many ways

Of course even thought this one wasnt decorated like the rest I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and those of you who know me know I love everything Elvis. Kate Riley must have read my mind. I love how she used gold lettering to complement the envelope colour and the crown.

I should receive 5 more for August and I've signed up for September again. Off to decorate my own envelopes ready for the September names.

Have a wonderful crafty day friends from all over the world!!!

Decorated Envelope - August - Smash

This is one of the most beautiful envelopes I have received so far in the Decorated envelopes I participate in every month. Its from Smash in the USA. Jan Hardt and Jean Wilson organise this wonderful month exchange for crafty people,  they do a fine job of it. I also love how the postal folk cancelled the envelope and added to the creativeness and didnt swipe all over the design.

WOYWW 326 More Stamp Camp Pictures

I was looking for inspiration for an upcoming collaborative book and came across some calendars I participated in.  Those are my designs that you see in the 4 calendars. Not much else on this desk but plenty of work on the other desk.

More pictures from my stamp camp

This table held all the door prizes, some gorgeous prizes there.

This exquisite head was designed by Sue Smyth the teacher who taught us that weekend. Absolutely stunning!! Was going to ask her why her stuff wasn't entered into our EKKA show then I saw on her blog that she is a judge on the show in the craft section.

This lady did the most exquisite book and cards, I can't remember her name.

Above and below are the show and tell table, again stunning stuff made by the ladies.

Thank you to fellow Desker Princess Judy who sent me this postcard, it is wildlife in Arizona, thank you Judy for contributing to my Postcard a Day collection. Judy if you could email me your snail mail address I'd love to send you one back. EMAIL
