My garden so far.
Drying seeds, at back in black seedling pot is baby tomatoes I grew from cutting tomatoes and planting the whole tomato.Pineapple-come back in 3 years to see how it went lol.
Red paw paw seeds
Pumpkin seeds
Most of the time some stray cat comes along and upends all my drying seeds grrrr
Wild chillie tree growing on its own from birds eating my chillie and pooping the seeds. I dont know how they can eat the whole chillie, maybe the poop is the results
Fruit tree to the left that I have no idea what it is, let me know if you recognise it. I planted it three years ago and it died, I let a chicken roam in my vege garden for a year and she must have fertilised the yard and now all my dormant dead plants have come alive. Mint I grew from a pot I bought from my local vege shop Willow & Oak
Another plant that had died, this is a lime one and is very strange the way it is growing, it doesn't have a main branch but it has many branches spreading out from the ground so I will have to put a stake and tie all the branches up as the limes are on the ground
Ginger plant doing quite well and not sure what those greens are in there hahaha
Another plant that had died on me, my passionfruit vine. I was shocked when I discovered the other day there were 9 passionfruits on the vine. My local vegetable shop Willow and Oak has an enormous vine growing that only took 1 year, it is loaded with passionfruit, he said he watered it alot. So I'd better do that this time. Trouble is I dont have time to go out and stand there and water so I'll have to put in a watering system
Another dead chillie tree came to life lol. Sweet potatoes growing wild again after I tried to get rid of it
A Philippine banana tree behind the rosemary, you can see a cucamelon vine going wild everywhere, I am going to get rid of it as I dont like the cucamelon, its abit tart.
I call this my nursery, every plant seems to like it here. Mint, curry leaf, mango, aloe vera, dragon fruit, frangipani and of course a dead banana tree that came back to life hahaha story of my gardening life. The banana tree needs to go into the ground, I dont know what kind of banana it is
The black bag is coffee grinds I got from Willow and Oak
I went to a nursery Ladybird Fruit Tree Nursery in Kallangur to get this Meyer lemon tree. I love that nursery, he has so many exotic fruits and plants.
The other tree I got was a Sweet Red Grapefruit tree, I love this fruit, it is soo sweet.
Well thats some of my garden so far, I have other trees in our 1 acre property that I will share when I get some good light to take photos.
Enjoy your weekend and stay safe
Your garden plants looks amazing. Oh I dream of summer and warm days but they are coming. Thanks for sharing these beauties. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWow what a verdant garden Bridget. I often just leave a hose dribbling in the garden(s) and keep moving it around every so often - some areas get overnight watering - others not so much.

I forgot to say the you can just take the seed out of the tomato and plant that, no need to plant the whole fruit. I save some seed each year, drying it on a paper towel, and plant out next spring...

Those chickens have a lot to answer for! Well done lil' chickens! Your garden is lush. It must be so satisfying to have your own fruit.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with the passion fruit!
Stay safe,
